Project Location: Roundabouts will be installed at the intersection of US Route 5 and Sykes Mountain Avenue and the intersection of Sykes Mountain Avenue and Ralph Lehman Drive.
Project Description: The Hartford STP 0113(59)S project will involve the installation of two single-lane roundabouts and approaches to improve safety for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians. One roundabout will be located at the junction of US Route 5 and Sykes Mountain Avenue. The second roundabout will be at the junction of Sykes Mountain Avenue and Ralph Lehman Road. The project will also include the removal and replacement of curb and new drainage. Construction of this project will be done in conjunction with the Hartford STP EH09(15) sidewalk project.

Project Schedule: Construction activities will commence in June 2020 and are scheduled to be complete at the end of October 2021.
Traffic Impact: US Route 5 will maintain one open lane and a left turning lane in each direction at all times. Sykes Mountain Avenue can expect intermittent alternating one-way traffic. Access to businesses will be maintained throughout construction. Flaggers will be on-site to guide motorists through the work zone. A designated pedestrian route will be established and maintained throughout construction.
