BURLINGTON-WINOOSKI BRIDGE BR#150
BF RAIZ(2) Burlington
Replacement of BR #150 over the Winooski River between Winooski and Burlington.
The Burlington-Winooski Bridge No. 150 project includes replacement of the existing three-span structure. The existing structure was constructed in 1928 and has had several rehabilitation projects.
The purpose of the project is to improve safety while maintaining structural integrity and continuity of this integral link between Winooski and Burlington across the Winooski River. The project will address deficiencies in the bridge while improving multi-modal (bicycle, pedestrian, vehicular) travel for people and goods. The design will also complement the context of the natural and cultural environment and provide an aesthetically appealing bridge to link the two cities.
The needs of the project include designated lanes for bicyclists, two lanes of traffic in each direction, improved safety for pedestrians, and addressing the conditional deficiencies of the existing structure.
The project will be contracted using the Design-Build procurement method.
