Replacement of Bridge No. 23 (short structure) located on US-2 in Williston.
Project Location: Bridge 23 is in the Town of Williston in Chittenden County on US 2 over an unnamed brook. Bridge 23 is a State-owned culvert, and is located approximately 1.1 miles west of the junction with VT 117.
The Williston Bridge 23 project includes the replacement of the existing Corrugated Galvanized Metal Plate Pipe Arch (CGMPPA) . Bridge 23 was built in 1917, reconstructed in 1969, has a span of 7 feet, and is 74 feet long. There is an average of 3 feet of fill over the culvert. The structure currently has a culvert rating of 3 (Serious), and a channel rating of 3 (Serious).
Traffic will be maintained on an offsite detour during a 1-week long closure duration.
Closures:
- US-2 will be closed at Bridge BR#23 over BROOK for 7 days between July 8, 2024 and July 15, 2024.
