Replacement of Bridge no. 29 on VT-17 in Buel's Gore.

Project Location: Town of Buel's Gore in Chittenden County on VT Route 17 over an unnamed brook. Bridge 29 is state owned, and is located approximately 7.2 miles west of the junction with VT 100.

The Buel's Gore Bridge 29 project includes the replacement of the existing Asphalt Coated Corrugated Galvanized Metal Plate Pipe (ACCGMPP). The existing culvert was built in 1957, has a span of 6 feet, and is 72 feet long. There is an average of 7 feet of fill over the culvert. The structure currently has a culvert rating of 4 (Poor), and a channel rating of 5 (Fair).


Traffic will be maintained on an offsite detour for 3 days during construction.  Temporary traffic signals with one-way alternating traffic will be in place before and after the 3 day closure of VT Route 17.

Regional Detour Route: VT Route 17, to VT Route 100, VT Route 125, and VT Route 116 back to VT Route 17

Through Route: 15.8 miles
Detour Route: 51.3 miles
End-to-end Distance: 67.1 miles
Added Distance: 35.5 miles
