Resurface I89 NB from Montpelier MM 52.5 to Waterbury MM 63. Includes ramps and facilities.
Project Location: This project will take place on the Northbound Barrel of I-89. Work begins at MM 52.500 in Montpelier, at the bare deck bridge, and extends northerly for 10.500 miles to MM 63.000 in Waterbury, just south of the Exit 10 off ramp. Work will also be performed on all associated ramps within the mainline limits listed.
Project Description: This project will perform a mill and fill and is being constructed in an effort to keep the condition of I-89 in generally good shape. Work will include milling to a depth of 2", surface preparation, then paving with a 1/2” layer of leveling course and a 1-1/2” wearing course. Additionally, some guardrail work will be performed to repair and replace damaged sections to bring full runs into compliance with the current standards. Finally, shoulder berms that have built up will be removed to facilitate better drainage from the road surface.
