BF 0251(49) Coventry

Replace existing BR132 (culvert) on VT14 with a precast concrete box.

Project Location: Town of Coventry in Orleans County on VT Route 14 over Stony Brook. Bridge 132 is a State-owned bridge located approximately 2.7 miles south of the junction with VT 100.

The Coventry Bridge 132 project includes the replacement of the existing Corrugated Galvanized Metal Plate Pipe Arch (CGMPPA). The existing culvert was built in 1959, has a span of 8 feet, and is 108 feet long. There is an average of 4 feet of fill over the culvert. The structure currently has a culvert rating of 2 (Poor), and a channel rating of 4 (Poor). 


Traffic will be maintained on an offsite detour during a 60-hour weekend bridge closure. 

Passenger Vehicle Detour Route: VT Route 14, to VT Route 105 and US Route 5, back to VT Route 14.

Through Route: 4.7 miles
Detour Route: 9.8 miles
End-to-end Distance: 14.5 miles
Added Distance: 5.1 miles


Truck Detour Route:  VT Route 14, to VT Route 100 and VT Route 58 and US Route 5, back to VT Route 14.

Through Route: 4.7 miles
Detour Route: 31.9 miles
End-to-end Distance: 36.6 miles
Added Distance: 27.2 miles
