Project Location: Beginning on the southbound lane of I-91 in the Town of Springfield, at mile marker 41.400 (just north of the Black River) and extending north for 25.070 miles and ending in the Town of Hartland at mile marker 66.470 (just north of the Ottauquechee River). Work will only take place in the southbound barrel.

Project Description: This project is considered a “preventative maintenance” activity and will be constructed in an effort to keep the condition of I-91 in generally good shape. Work will include fine milling to a depth of 3/4", surface preparation, then paving with a 3/4” layer of bonded wearing course. Additionally, some guardrail work will be performed to repair and replaced damaged sections to bring full runs into compliance with the current standards. Finally, shoulder berms that have built up will be removed to facilitate better drainage from the road surface.

For this project, paving work will only be completed in the travel lane, or between the existing shoulder rumble strips. The shoulders will receive fog seal and a cover coat material to maintain the condition of the shoulder pavement and ensure proper surface friction characteristics.
