Remediation of rock cut #36 located in Wells on VT 30, twn mm 4.94 NB.
The Wells STP 015-2(11) project is the stabilization of a 1,450 long rockcut on VT Route 30, adjacent to Lake St. Catherine. This rockcut has an "A" rating based on VTrans Rockfall Hazard Rating System as a high probability of rockfalls to reach the roadway. Scope of the project will include hand and machine scaling of the slope to remove loose material and installation of a wire mesh rock slope protection system that will contain future rockfall events and allow them to fall safely to a catchment area.
It is expected that one-lane of traffic will be closed during the duration of the project construction.
