ROCKINGHAM I-91

IM 091-1(76) Rockingham

Remediation of rock cut #11 located in Rockingham on I-91 at ete mm 36.25 SB.

Located on Insterstate 91 Southbound, the Rockingham IM 091-1(76) project consists of a rockcut approximately 1,150 feet long that has historically been the source of many rockfall events.  This project will lay the slope back at a flatter slope by utilizing blasting technigues.  Rock drains will also be installed, following blasting, to reduce potential for freeze/thaw to separate the ledge material.

A crossover will be utilized to detour southbound traffic to one lane of Interstate 91 Northbound, separated by barriers, to allow the contractor full usage of the project area during blasting operations.
